Design features
Specifications (1)

Not just a punching machine

Technology Italiana TP Alpha Matic 5 isn't limited to punching, and its functions include:

  • Punching.
  • Embossing.
  • Fine contouring.
  • Nibbling.
  • Deburring.
  • Forming.
  • Bending.
  • Marking.
  • High speed forming.
  • Tapping.
  • Engraving.
  • Coining.

Servo-electric punching unit

The punching unit is powered by a brushless servo-electric FANUC motor managed by CNC.

  • This system lowers energy consumption, enhances productivity, reduces maintenance and grants greater control of accelerations.
  • The DualCam system enables high-frequency machining while avoiding overheating problems.
  • SoftPunch for noise reduction during high-frequency punching or thick/hard material processing.
  • Tool stroke, speed, acceleration and penetration are fully programmable.
  • Complete absence of hydraulic oil.

TRUMPF-style tools

TRUMPF-style tools are the best punching technology of today, offering significant advantages over the AMADA-style tooling technology (turret). These tools are:*

  • 63% shorter.
  • 73% lighter.
  • 69% more affordable.

*compared to AMADA-style tools.

Horizontal tool change system

Smart Turret is the only compact and versatile automatic tool changing system on the market. Its 5 stations are equipped with auto-index technology, enabling the tool rotation from 0° to 360°. Smart Turret comes with a customizable configuration and a Speedy Setup system that lets the operator equip every single station in 12 seconds.

Full auto-index

The auto-index system is fully integrated inside the punching unit and managed by the CNC, allowing the orientation of any type of tool—single or multi-tool—from 0° to 360° with a minimal programmable step of 0.01°. Auto-index benefits include:

  • Simple programming, even for complex nesting.
  • Lowered machine setup costs.
  • More efficient use of material.

Customizable tool configuration

The TP Alpha Matic 5 turret punching press has 5 tool stations and can be equipped with up to 50 TRUMPF-style tools. You can choose one of the proposed configurations or customize each station with standard, special or multi-tools. Here are the Technology Italiana tool configurations:

  • Basic: 5 auto-index tools.
  • Medium: 9 auto-index tools.
  • Top: 18 auto-index tools.

“C” frame

The "C" frame makes the machine accessible on three sides, allowing both front and side loading. It also enables the use of non-standard sheet metal sizes thanks to the repositioning and overturning capabilities. The monolithic electro-welded structure was subjected to a normalization heat treatment, spreading all the structure tensions generated by welding. TECHNOLOGY frames are built in Italy with certified Italian materials.

Automatic repositioning

The punch press can process extra-large sheet formats by repositioning the sheets along the X-axis with the machine head. The number of repositions is potentially infinite in both positive and negative directions.

Large 18,5 "touch-screen

Simplified input operations thanks to the touch screen monitor combined with a personalized HMI interface.

CNC software

  • HMI TECNOCONTROL: touch screen interface by TECHNOLOGY that simplifies the punch press use. Dedicated pages for individual functions and a description of commands that don’t require programming.
  • TECNOCAM software: swift and visual approach to creating processing programs without the use of ISO codes.

Other TP Alpha Matic 5 features

  • X-Y axes moving system implemented through two distinct technologies: X-axis with rack and pinion and Y-axis with ball screw guarantee the maximum sheet stability and processing precision.
  • The axes have the possibility to position themselves in negative up to -40 mm. This allows to make notches that are smaller than the punch geometry, avoiding the replacement of the punch.
  • Two sheet metal support table options: with metal balls or brushes.
  • Sheet locking clamps with a pneumatic system, collision prevention sensor and automatic positioning option.
  • Electropump lubrication system for threading tools/rodents and automatic lubrication system for the working area.
  • Scrap suction device.
  • Automatic tool sharpening compensation: increases tool life by automatically managing the penetration depth for each individual station.
  • CAD / CAM Jetcam Expert software to enhance the capabilities of a punch press.
  • Tele-assistance for remote machine servicing.
  • Safety photocells according to CE standards to create a safety zone around the machine.
